Schedule Details
Day 1: Arrival Day –Welcome to East Africa!
Arrive at Arusha Airport near Arusha Town where you will be met by VEA staff and transported to the beautiful hotel situated on the lower slopes of Mount Meru in Arusha, Tanzania. The afternoon can either be spent around the swimming pool, bird watching, or relaxing in the beautiful and peaceful gardens while catching up on some much- needed rest before your safari starts the following day. Dinner and overnight
Day 2: Transfer to Tangire National Park
Early in the morning, the guide will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to the famous Tarangire National Park. The park is made up of seasonal marshes, bush savannah, with the baobab trees. This national park is one of the best places in the whole of East Africa since you get to watch the elephants up-close. There are over 4000 animals and these include; Masai giraffes, antelopes, buffalos, leopards, lions, baboons and many more bird species. You will arrive in the park during time for lunch After lunch, you will go for a game drive in Tangire National Park. See some of the largest elephant herds in Africa. This African National Park is also home to three rare species of animals – the Greater Kudu, the Fringed-eared Oryx, as well as a few Ashy Starlings. Dinner and overnight
Day 3: Tarangire – Serengeti national park
Have a morning game drive after a satisfying breakfast for more opportunities to view more wildlife species. In the afternoon after lunch, transfer to Serengeti national park; a renowned world destination for the massive wildlife diversity including the big five and the famous great migration of the wildebeests. Reaching the park will be in the evening to just check in at the lodge, dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Full day Game drive Serengeti National Park
Today is all about the Serengeti. You can decide to go on a full-day safari with a picnic lunch in the park or head out just before daybreak to experience a safari at sunrise. Few predators hunt during the heat of the day, so the early morning is the best time to observe the thrill of the chase. It is also a magical time in the Serengeti, with soft light dappling the landscape, birds awakening and the sense of adventure beginning to unfurl. In the afternoon, you will explore the heart of the Serengeti, Seronera Valley. The area is known for its high concentration of big cats like lions, leopards and cheetahs, but you will also see a whole range of wild animals roaming these grassy plains; from the skittish zebra to the naughty mongoose. Back at camp you can recount your safari tales around the camp fire to the songs of nature around you.
Day 5: Ngorongoro crater tour
Early in the morning after breakfast, you will drive to the direction of the Ngorongoro crater. On reaching the crater, the caldera opens up in front of you and is a good sight to behold. Deep within the crater, enclosed by towering walls, you have a good chance of spotting ‘The Big 5’: lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard. Depending on the time of year, you may also see flocks of pink flamingos around the shores of the shallow Lake Magadi, while the surrounding swamp area is inhabited by large pods of hippos. You will also enjoy the fantastic views of the sun as it goes down. Dinner and overnight
Day 6: Lake manyara tour
Depart the lodge soon after breakfast and proceed to Lake Manyara national park for a full afternoon game drives with packed lunch. Dinner and overnight stay at a Lodge or Camp. Lake Manyara is a shallow, alkaline lake that is part of the Rift Valley wall; the lake is at the base of this dramatic western escarpment giving it a beautiful and serene setting. In addition to this peaceful setting, Lake Manyara’s main attractions are its rich bird life, tree climbing lions and its hippos, which you can see at a closer range than many other places. Lake Manyara also hosts thousands of flamingos at certain times of the year and has diverse vegetation ranging from savannah, to marshes and acacia woodland, enabling a variety of wildlife habitats including butterflies.
Day 7: Transfer to Zanzibar
After a week on safari you will be ready for some down-time in paradise. Your driver/guide will drop you off at Arusha airport for your afternoon flight to Zanzibar island. A representative from your hotel will be waiting at the airport to pick-you up and take you to your accommodation on the Coast.
Day 8: Zanzibar tour
Days spent sunbathing and relaxing in the white sand beach resort. Optional excursion to Stone town, Prison Island, Spice tours, Sunset cruises can be arranged at an extra cost.
Day 9: Departure
The time has come to soak up the last rays of sunshine and enjoy the final hours of paradise. Depending on the time of your flight today, you may have some time to enjoy a last dip in the sea or stroll on the beach, then transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport to take up your flight
